High-quality cocoa beans are the heart of our chocolate
OUR COCOA ORIGIN — SUR DEL LAGO, VENEZUELA
Our chocolate begins in the fertile lands south of Lake Maracaibo, in the historic Sur del Lago region of Venezuela — one of the world’s most prized cacao origins.
There, small family farms have grown cocoa for generations, caring for each tree by hand and honoring the traditions of their ancestors.
The fermentation process is done by removing the cacao seeds from their pods and placing them in large wooden boxes for 4-6 days.
Drying is achieved by the sun on drying decks.
Heritage of the Guasare Cacao
The Sur del Lago cacao descends from the mythical Guasare, one of the oldest and most aromatic cacao varieties ever discovered — often called “the mother of Venezuelan cacao.”
Its genetic purity and balanced flavor have made it a reference for fine chocolate makers around the world.
Sustainably and Ethically Sourced
We partner directly with smallholder farmers who practice sustainable agroforestry, preserving biodiversity and ensuring fair income and dignified work.
Every bean we use is traceable, slave-free, and harvested with respect — for both people and the planet.
